​ In ‘The world that surrounds me’ – at the Shopkeeper, Aneta Bajdevska brings together about 20 works on canvas, wood and paper, that were created in most recent years in Sonoma. “The world that surrounds me” is a series of works that explore various subjects, overlapping themes, perception and memory. Through the contrast of different visual elements, symbolic drawings, and flat areas of irregular patterns she builds her compositions by layering, erasing and seeking the effects that comes from exposing the underlayers. From figures, various organic elements, to geometric shapes and close inspection of architectural details, the idea is to explore a subject and tell her story of the world that surrounds her.
